Herby Garlic bread

What would soup be without a side of crispy herby garlic bread?

Warm bread, drenched in melted butter that has been mixed with garlic and herbs makes this garlic bread the perfect accompaniment to any soup.  

 To ensure it’s crispy, the bread is sliced in half, butter, herbs and garlic are then spread generously on the bread and then it’s baked open faced in the oven.

Ingredients

  • Bread 400g - sliced in half.

  • 1/2 cup butter (112g) - softened.

  • 3 cloves garlic - minced

  • 1 tablespoon dried herbs of choice e.g parsley, basil

Directions

  • Pre heat the oven to 175c. Prepare the baking pan - oil it or spray it with cooking spray.

  • Prepare the garlic bread: Cut the bread horizontally in half. Mix the butter, garlic, and herbs together in a small bowl. 

  • Spread butter mixture over the the two bread halves.

  • Place on a baking pan and heat in  the oven for 10 minutes.

  • Remove from oven, let cool for a minute. 

  • Remove from the pan and use a bread knife to cut into  thick slices. 

  • Best enjoyed while hot!
